“I’m doing a Teremana toast with millions of people, I’m doing it, and I created our Teremana Tequila for what I like to say, are “the good times, the not so good times, and everything in between,”

Dwayne “The Rapper” Johnson

What a larger than life day this was, figuratively and literally.

I don’t need to tell you, but The Rock is everywhere! (or DJ is was what we called him on set. I guess calling someone “The Rock” to their face is a bit odd). The big screen, he’s there. Small screen, there he is. The Super Bowl, on the 50 yard line. Superhero, Black Adam. Animated, yep. Sports leagues, sport drinks, sport apparel, The Rock.

How does someone that’s IN and ON everything DO everything? Well you find a big studio and set up different “stations” for different purposes and bang them all out in one day. Think speed dating, but with 100% success rate on each rotation.

Of all the “stops,” we were apart of 2 of them. One being a music video for DJ’s rapping debut (cause what can’t he do?), as he was the surprise guest on Tech N9ne’s new single “Face Off.” If you’ve been seeing “it’s about drive, it’s about power” everywhere, this is why.

The other shoot was for his tequila brand, Teremana. It was for the launch of the anejo. Not only was it amazing seeing DJ go from station to station, changing wardrobe, and channeling different characters and remembering every line (including the rapping!) he has to say all in one take, plus a few more for safety. But he went into each one with the same enthusiasm, energy, and professionalism.

Now, this wasn’t meant to be a love fest for The Rock. But it really is something else when you have a tennis partner to play with as a subject. Was this an awesome shoot? Obviously. Was it amazing to experience The Rock in full hood mode? Mhmm. Did we talk about his favorite boxer(s)? Yes, and the answer might surprise you. Is he one of the nicest people on the planet? Also yes.
